What are the benefits of Higher Education?

You will have greater earning power.
Most employers prefer to hire graduates. Most starting salaries advertised for graduates are at least £12,000, more in the London area, and usually averaging something like £18,000. A quarter of graduates receive starting salaries of £21,000 or above.

Your income will rise by more, and it will rise sooner and faster.
Promotional prospects are far better. Graduates' salaries are rising faster than non-graduates' salaries across the board. A few years after graduation, most people who've got a degree are earning more than people of the same age without one. Ten years after graduating, men earn 30% more and women 46% more on average than non-graduates.

You will have a greater choice of jobs.
You'll have a wider range of career options open to you, whatever your subject. Graduate jobs are normally less boring.

Your chances of ever being unemployed will be cut by half.

In total over a working life, even in today's money, you can expect to earn an extra £160,000 with a degree than without one.
